When Jamie Isaac released his 'Loose Grip' mixtape featuring collaborations with Rejjie Snow and King Krule, the tape immediately went into heavy rotation here at WW HQ. Ever since we have been listening to all Jamie Isaac's releases and looked for ways to collaborate and hook up. We are therefore delighted to now present a short and sweet muzak mix from the London based singer and producer.

Signed to House Anxiety/Marathon Artists, Jamie's debut EP, 'I Will Be Cold Soon', attracted attention for its near-choral incantations, minimalist jazz tones and post-rock layering. Jamie has been praised for using the power of silence with experimental and enveloping swaggering beats and his self-aware lyrics.

On his latest album '(04:30) Idler', which was released June 2018, Jamie Isaac reveals himself as the classically trained multi-instrumentalist he is. His sound is infused with the smoky sensibility of south London - the bass of dubstep, the loneliness of the night bus - as well as jazz and granular digital. Highly recommendable.

How soon is now? To spin a track, enter a DJ booth, illuminate a dance floor. There’s no joy in division, but in the way that music makes people come together. The undulating baselines, crisp emotion-laden vocals and synths transported from a distant sphere: we collude so we can praise the ambience, as we should. MUZAK is a place for fire starters—where hedonistic playlists are shared and oeuvres opened up like the emergent stages of a mosh pit. Whether you join us live or somewhere along the waves, here's where you’ll find your space in the crowd.
